Silvia Fargion Silvia Fargion is Assistant Professor of Social Work at the University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy. She holds a PhD in Social Work from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Edinburgh (2001), a Degree in Psychology from the University of Padua (1985) and a Diploma in Social Work from the Milan Social Work School (1977), where she also lectured between 1983-1996. Her research interests include social workers' professional cultures and social welfare organizations. She has also developed substantial experience as a professional social worker in the area of young people and families, and as a consultant to public and private social service units. Her work has appeared in The British Journal of Social Work (2003), The Journal of Social Work (2006), Social Work & Society (2007) and International Social Work (2008), as well as in many Italian outlets.
