Mr. Lobzang Dorji graduated with Bachelor of Arts in History and Buddhist Literature from Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan. In 2014, he was selected as the South Asia Foundation - Madanjeet Singh Group Scholar to pursue a two years postgraduate degree course in South Asian Studies at UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute of South Asian Regional Cooperation at Pondicherry Central University, India. In 2014-2016, he also completed Postgraduate Diploma in Human Rights and Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Development from Pondicherry Central University India.

He started his career as reporter to Bhutan Times, a country's first private print paper. He has also worked as Cultural Tour Guide to Yangphel Adventure and researcher to Bhutan Tourism Corporation Limited. He even worked with Chennai Centre for China Studies- Think Tank as a researcher studying on “Downstream Impact of River Brahmaputra”. He was also a research consultant to the Agency of Promotion of Indigenous Crafts, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Royal Government of Bhutan. In 2016, he worked as Project Officer to Bhutan Association for Women Entrepreneurs- Civil Society Organization in Thimphu.

In 2018, he joined as Lecturer to History Programme, Department of Arts & Humanities, Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan. In the same year, he was selected to attend the Young Sinologist Programme organized by the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is also a member of the World Council of Sinologists from 2022-2027. In 2019, he founded Sherubtse United Nation Club playing an instrumental role in establishing close work with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bhutan. In 2020, he was appointed as Programme Leader responsible for the overall coherence, delivery, planning, evaluation and enhancement of an academic programme. In the same year, he was appointed as Business Incubation Manager of Sherubtse Business Incubation Center in Sherubtse College and was Lead Project Coordinator under Skill  Development Plan 2021 – 2023 to facilitate Basic Entrepreneurship Course to the graduates of Technical & Vocational Education & Training working closely with Ministry of Labour & Human Resources, Royal Government of Bhutan.

In 2017-2019, he was a research consultant to conduct Socio-economic Assessment of Zungdi village in Yallang Gewog, Trashiyangtse and Dzongthung Village in Bartsham Gewog, Trashigang for State Mining Corporation Limited (SMCL), Bhutan. In 2021, he was a Facilitator & Organizer for Start-up Boot Camp on Business & Entrepreneurship, organized by Dean of Research & Industrial Linkages, Sherubtse College, Bhutan. In 2020, he was Resource Person for the Start-up Weekend, Business Idea Pitching organized by Dean of Research & Industrial Linkages, Sherubtse College, Bhutan. From 2017-2019, he was a researcher for the project GOI-PTA (2017-2019) to conduct historical research on ritual & indigenous cultural practices in Eastern Bhutan. He was even the facilitator to teach Qualitative Research Methodology to faculty and students of Sherubtse College organized by the Dean of Research & Industrial Linkages, Sherubtse College, Bhutan. He was also a member as Developer for BA in History Program, Department of Arts & Humanities, Sherubtse College, Bhutan.

At present, he is enrolled in doctoral degree programme at Institute of Asian & Transnational Studies at Vilnius University under the development cooperation project “Support to Bhutan in the field of Ethnology doctoral degree” by the Embassy of Lithuania in New Delhi, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lithuania. His dissertation title is on “Heritage & Its Interpretations in Bhutan: Archeological Discoveries, Protection & Vernacular Perceptions”. His area of research is in Archaeology, Socio-Cultural Anthropology, South Asian geo-politics and sinology.
