Degree Students

A degree student is a student who is admitted to one of the degree study programmes offered at Vilnius University. Degree studies are aimed at gaining Vilnius university degree and (or) qualification.

Vilnius University offers three levels of degree studies in the study areas of humanities, physical sciences, biomedical sciences, technological sciences and social sciences: undergraduate (Bachelor), graduate (Master) and postgraduate (Doctoral).

The official language of instruction at Vilnius University is Lithuanian except programmes taught in English and Russian.

Founded in 1579, the oldest, yet modern and open, the Faculty of Philosophy at Vilnius University offers three levels of degree studies – undergraduate (Bachelor), graduate (Master) and postgraduate (Doctoral) – in social sciences and humanities: psychology, philosophy, education, social policy, sociology and social work (except doctoral studies).

The official language of instruction at the Faculty is Lithuanian except for the courses for exchange students.

The extent of studies are calculated in ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits. One credit equals to 40 hours of workload (lectures, seminars, individual study and etc). Full information on credit and grading system at Vilnius University can be found by following this link.
