Conference "Facing the Inevitability of Death: Eastern and Western Perceptions"

Konferencija Mirties akivaizdoje interOn 21 January 2023, we invite you to the scientific interdisciplinary conference "Facing the Inevitability of Death: Eastern and Western Perceptions", organised by the Institute of Asian and Transcultural Studies at Vilnius University in collaboration with the Institute for Humanistic and Existential Psychotherapy (HEPI).

This interdisciplinary conference aims to discuss the phenomenon of death from different perspectives and disciplines.The conference will address universal existential questions that have been raised since ancient times: are we finite and how can we come to terms with the terrifying inevitability?

These and similar questions will be discussed, and practising psychologists and scholars of Asian cultural traditions, philosophers, religious scholars, ethnologists and representatives of religious traditions will share their views and research on various aspects of our relationship with death.
