“Cultural Criminology”. This lecture deals with the main streams in cultural criminology, its roots and main works of Jock Young, Jeff Ferrell and Mike Presdee.
Gegužės 11 d. 11:00-13:00, VU Filosofijos fakulteto 201 aud.
“Organised Crime in Eastern Europe”. This lecture deals with reasons of the emergence of criminal groups in different East European countries, their structure, organisation, mobility and activity of Mobile Bandits in Western countries, especially in the Netherlands.
About lecturer:
Dina Siegel is professor of criminology at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. She received her Ph.D. in cultural anthropology at the VU University Amsterdam. She has published on the Russian mafia, human trafficking and smuggling, underground banking, XTC trafficking, crimes in the diamond industry, the role of women in organised crime, green criminology, cultural criminology, transitional justice and crime and music. Her recent publications are Contemporary Organised crime Developments, Challenges and Responses (with Hans Nelen, Springer, 2017); The Migration crisis? Criminalization, security and survival (with Veronika Nagy; Eleven International, 2018).
