On March 19th at 17.30 in Vilnius University, the hall place, Room 239, Universiteto str. 3, Vilnius will take place the guest lecture “Women‘s Political Freedom in Europe” by prof. dr. Corinna Kroeber (University of Greifswald).
In democracies, the people have the right to choose who governs – they are free. Even more, democratic states guarantee equal political rights for all citizens to participate in politics. Prof. dr. Kroeber, however, underlines that in reality the chances to exercise this freedom are unevenly distributed within the population. For this reason, the lecture will give a broad overview about women’s role in politics in the member states of the European Union.
