2026 gegužės 12 d. 13 val. kviečiame jus į viešą paskaitą "The Vilnius Period of Wincenty Lutosławski", kurią skaitys prof. dr. Tomasz Mróz iš Uniwersytet Zielonogórski (Lenkija).
Apie paskaitą:
Wincenty Lutosławski (1863-1954), an internationally recognised researcher of Plato and one of the top Polish philosophers and historians of philosophy, was most probably the best-known philosopher connected to the Vilnius University in its long and complex history. Lutosławski worked in Vilnius between 1919 and 1931. Despite his initial disappointment with his university position, his colleague professors, and low number of students, he worked in the university for a period of 12 years, until his retirement. Nevertheless, the lecture will be focused on Lutosławski’s achievements in this period, including courses for wider audiences, a successful Ph.D. student interested in Plato, indefatigable attempts to start correspondence with notable persons, not only philosophers, and – last, but not least – his idea of a historical development of metaphysics, which he started to prepare in Vilnius and developed until his ultimate years.
