Scientific seminar: Caring for the carers: Understanding Secondary Traumatic Stress

Pradžia: 2024-03-04 15:00
Pabaiga: 2024-03-04 16:00

seminaras copyOn 4th of March 2024 at 3 pm. we kindly invite you to scientific seminar: Caring for the carers: Understanding Secondary Traumatic Stress among mental health professionals serving war refugees.

In the face of global conflicts like the war in Ukraine and a pandemic of war refugees around the globe, mental health professionals carry a significant burden. Join us in the enlightening seminar as we delve into unique challenges faced by professionals serving war refugees as we try to answer: How can we help the helpers? Additionally, my research will be a focal point, featuring a cultural comparison between Pakistan and Lithuania. Despite being geographically distant, these regions share intriguing similarities in their experiences with refugees and managing secondary traumatic stress (STS) among mental health providers. Join us in understanding STS and factors that contribute in its development as we find ways to support mental health providers on the front lines of global crises, transcending geographical boundaries.

Presenter PhD student Momina Khalid Butt, seminar will be led by Professor Evaldas Kazlauskas.

Seminar will take place in Faculty of Philosophy, Room 201 (Universiteto str. 9), you also can join online with this link - https://bit.ly/3SP0xFm
