Executive Master in Cross-border Criminology

About the project

The goal of the project is to develop a new transnational joint Executive Master in Cross-border Criminology. The programme would address newly emerging problems perpetuated by transnational organised crime that require a high level of cooperation and subject-specific knowledge to be solved. In particular, the programme would focus on four key thematic tracks:

1. Online crime
2. Environmental crime
3. Corruption and white-collar crime

4. Migration and crimes of mobility

Furthermore, the programme would be highly integrated, allowing students to gain knowledge and skills from internationally acclaimed scholars representing different regions in Europe. The programme would be aimed at practitioners working in law enforcement, crime prevention and similar institutions or has such work experience. Students would be encouraged to create and foster professional networks across a range of national and international law enforcement agencies and other relevant institutions across Europe and beyond, laying foundations for transnational cooperation.

Deliverables

The project is expected to have designed the following joint mechanisms:

• Joint student admission requirements and application, selection, monitoring, examination/performance evaluation rules/procedures;
• Joint programme and integrated teaching/training activities;
• A plan for common services offered to students (e.g. language courses, visa support);
• Joint promotion and awareness-raising strategy;
• Joint administrative and financial management strategy;
• A joint degree policy;
• A draft joint partnership agreement involving at least three HEIs from three different countries, of which at least two should be EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme. This agreement is intended to cover all academic, operational, administrative and financial aspects related to the implementation of the Master programme.

• A draft joint Student Agreement.
