2022 m. balandžio 20–28 d. doc. dr. Kristina Garalytė lankėsi Indijoje. Pundžabo valstijoje esančiame Lovely Professional University (LPU) ji susitiko su šio universiteto tarptautinių ryšių skyriaus vadove Supriya Mathew, įvairių disciplinų mokslininkais bei VU Pietų Azijos studijų studentais Linu Tavaru ir Joana Bertašiūte, kurie šiuos metus Indijoje dalyvauja „Erasmus+“ mainų programoje ir atlieka profesinę praktiką. Vizito metu buvo aptartos bendradarbiavimo galimybės Pietų Azijos studijų srityje. K. Garalytė skaitė viešą paskaitą universiteto mokslininkams bei studentams apie Azijos ir Pietų Azijos studijas Lietuvoje.
During this public lecture, Aizada Arystanbek will discuss the Russian Invasion of Ukraine from a Critical Feminist perspective by exploring the issues of Russian imperialism, connecting media bias of the war coverage with Eurocentric notions of modernity and civilization, and situating the conflict within a broader regional perspective that centers experiences of Central Asia.
What can anthropology learn from theatre? How does the process of making performance relate to the experience of conducting ethnography? And what does it mean when one becomes the other?
This is the eleventh event in a series of “Conversations in Anthropology” co-organized by the Institute of Asian and Transcultural Studies at Vilnius University and the Society for Anthropological Sciences-EuroAsia in partnership with the Lithuanian Anthropological Association. In this conversation Douglas Fry, David Henig and Glenn Petersen will discuss how the lessons of historical and ethnographic studies of war can provide insight into how to develop global systems of checks and balances that deter war and promote peace (with an emphasis on the Russian invasion of Ukraine).

First of all, I would like to thank for the opportunity to share the perspective of Ukrainian scholars towards the war against Russia. I have to admit that due to the circumstances, this essay will not be by any means scholarly or academic. It would rather reflect my values as an individual and as a Ukrainian. However, these values hugely overlap with the values of the academic community of Ukraine.

Our hominin ancestors inevitably encountered psilocybin-containing fungi widely distributed across temperate and tropical zones. Knowledge of primates’ and early hominins’ diet, ecology and self-medicative behaviors indicates that hominins also ingested mushrooms, including psilocybin-containing mushrooms.
